Hi!  My name is Jim Hilst.  This web site, as an extension of our home, is devoted to the preservation of old fishing tackle of all types.  I consider it sort of an old fishing tackle retirement home.  Some of the retirees here, as seen on the "permanent residents" page, reside here permanently, and are displayed simply for others to enjoy and compare with residents of their own homes.  Others, as in most retirement villas, are only here temporarily before moving on into the hands of other caretakers, or, when time comes, that big ebay in the sky.  I will try to post pictures of these guests for your viewing pleasure on the "just visiting" page before they leave.  As in most homes, I too, have my favorites.  With me, it's the Surf Oreno made by the South Bend Bait Company in South Bend, Indiana.  This lure is an example of one resident's ability to evolve and survive during ever changing times.  I have tried to document some of these production changes on the "Surf Oreno Stages" page linked below.
